I have been at my job for a long time. 17 years in fact. And I have only been a supervisor for 10 months now. I'm not a manager even though my title makes people think I am. There are people here who have been doing parts of my job for a heck of a lot longer than the 10 months that I have. What amazes & frustrates me is when these people call me to

I understand your frustration and sympathize. The world is full of idiots and unmotivated lazy people. At least be glad you're not in those two categories. Be proud that you are doing a good job; someday soon you will be rewarded for your excelence.

I've been doing Diesel work close to 20 years now. I have been doing all of the aspects of this field too. Everything from supervisor to parts man. But yet, people still don't trust me. The thing of it is though that I'm known for clearing stating when I do and do not know something. If I don't know it I'll tell you. I don't need to lie and if I did what's the worst that could happen to me? Fired?
But anyway, one of the main reasons I hate this job is that morons come in and take credit for my work. Saying crap like, "Yeah. We fixed it and we figured it out." Who the heck is we?
I know that as I get older I won't be able to keep doing this job. That someday I'll be forced to move on.
But, I have yet to clearly understand how some people get the titles they do.

I say that almost daily! It's barely 10:30 (we begin our day @ 8:45) & I'm already shaking my head at the mindless questions I'm getting!

Usually my dumb questions begin just as I get to work.
