Orion was almost ready to skip like a schoolgirl, he was that excited. But he kept his calm as he walked closer to the archery range, longbow in hand. He missed the days of their youths where him and his bestest friends, Artemis and Apollo, used to spend lots of time at this exact archery range, practicing their aim (which was a little worse at the time). However, he wore a puzzled look as he just so happened to forget the outcome of all those contest the three of them used to have. (Probably because he didn't want to remember losing to either twin.)

But this time, things would be different. Orion had practiced every chance he got while he was away, and he got good. Very good. In fact, so good that he told all his friend how good he was, and they knew it so well they asked him not to tell them anymore! Surely, they liked hearing about how good he was... oh well. This was his first chance to actually prove it to the twins. He was glad to finally get the chance to face off against someone else at his favourite sport ( ... )

Her bow slung over her shoulder, Artemis strolled along behind Apollo, staring at the back of his blond head. Didn't he just come home from Troy? Why was he organizing this archery get together if he was so tired? Shrugging, Artemis saw Orion, who had given Apollo a pat on the back while Apollo clearly glowered. She knew that this was going to be both an interesting and slightly annoying outing.

This was not something that Artemis wasn't used to. Ever since they were younger, Apollo seemed to be rather cold, if not snarky with Orion, despite the fact that he was Artemis' best friend. Apollo was never fond of males near Artemis, or getting emotionally close with her. Jealousy, perhaps? Especially Orion.

Silently, Artemis crept off into the distance for a small stroll in the trees. Maybe when gone, the two of them can figure things out. Or... kill each other. Whatever worked. They were males, afterall.

For once, Apollo did not notice that Artemis had flittered off on her own. Instead he had his keen blue eyes locked on Orion in a sort of death glare as heated as the sun. He folded his arms condescendingly and didn’t respond one word to Orion’s greeting or physical humbleness.

"... ..." He said dramatically.

It was a sure fact in the world of Apollo that he did not like Orion. The man got on his nerves faster than Dionysus did on a bad day. This man was just so easily connected to his sister that it infuriated him. What sort of mentality was behind such a air headed man? What would make Artemis want to befriend someone that was everything she should have hated in a male?

That was weird... Apollo seemed unnerved, again. Orion noticed it first at the twins birthday party, when Apollo didn't seem to cheery... Maybe something was really wrong. But he was concerned about his allergies at the party, too, and that was the only other time he had seen Apollo since he got back. Maybe he was okay, and just a little tired or something.

"It's sure been a while, hasn't it?", Orion said as he started to gaze off into the distance. "I remember when we used to come here as kids, don't you? Those were great times!" Orion decided to pat Apollo on the back once again, maybe he would give a sigh and talk to him, or something.

Oh yes. Orion was always the one trying to being about conversation between them. It never really occurred to Orion that Apollo didn’t like to talk to him much? They were childhood friends in all loose definitions of that term, but even then Apollo had been somewhat standoffish around Orion.

Apollo did try once and a while when he had to. Like being polite during his birthday. But since he couldn’t sense his sister’s presence around, he felt perfectly comfortable with not saying much and only silently observing Orion carefully.

He nodded slightly though. Yes, it had been a long time. The last time they had done this was probably in their teens. Even then though, Artemis and Apollo had always easily beaten Orion in points.

Apollo smirked slightly and teased, “Yes, I remember. You always came in last, didn’t you?”
