Everything I'm seeing says the Debate People won't move or cancel the debate. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that they're not swayed...

He bailed on Letterman, and he's not too happy about it.

The Letterman article is brutal!! But then, if you cancel your Letterman appearance and then go interview with Katie Couric, I think you deserve it.

I listened to part of his speech on NPR. Why can they campaign and be a senator at the same time? I don't see the need to officially suspend anything.

My hypothesis: McCain is sick.

1) He is avoiding the public spotlight
a) He wants to suspend his campaign, removing him from public campaign events.
b) He canceled his appearance on tonight's Late Show.

2) There are reports there's something going on with his left eye. This might've been going on for a while, but it's been noted today. Could be a result of cancer (some theorize), could be a minor stroke (my theory).

3) He wants to postpone Friday's debate because he might not be physically up (100%) for it, and that's caused him to be not mentally ready.

If he is sick with something more than a cold or a flu, he can't let it get out at all. By removing himself from the public, he can get a chance to rest up before the debate in two days.
