That's pretty much how I see it (and I think most Americans). I read an article in the economist about why everyone else sees it different from the Americans and Israelis, but I still don't full comprehend it. I understand that Europeans in general don't think war will solve problems (because of their experiences), and that they think that preemptive strikes are even worse, but Israel is not being preemptive - it's reacting. Maybe they feel that because it's different people for each attack (even though it's not really), that each response from Israel is preemptive because a further attack is not a logical certainty (even though it's obvious). I understand that Cato thinks that Israel's strategy can't work, because with any innocents getting killed (or fake killed) it gives the enemy strength, but as you discussed above, that doesn't really make sense, because whenever the Jewish innocents die nobody seems to care, and the Arabs innocents are dying because the Arab terrorists are using them as shields, which should be obvious to

Of course, I forgot two obvious groups... the terrorists themselves and the Islamists who have been brainwashed since their childhood, often with cartoons.
