I find that if you just set aside some money for bus fare to get out to things, that can make a big difference. Once it's put aside, it's easy to not spend it, and it's there so you can go.

I wouldn't say the groups have tight circles. At card games... I've only seen Erin (the woman running it) ummm... a total of 5 times now, at these things. I met her husband Derek just once before that meetup. At the Board Games one... I'm really only friends-friends with 2 people there - one of which I had only met that very day.
There aren't really any circles, just lots of acquaintances. The closest we had was when a small group of friends (4 or 5) all came out together one time to board games. Even then, only 2 of them were there the next time.

None of the game groups are meeting next week, except for the Drexoll 24 hour gameathon... but there are several meetups the week after.
