[A bronze lizard-like head is peering into the PCD, eyes whirling blue and green. It chirps. Then Tenten's voice is heard from behind him.]

Kusari! That's not the target! Come on. Don't you want extra rabbit?

[The lizard leaps off the PCD, flapping wings and taking off to land on a straw target, curling up on its head. A sigh can be heard.]You

[Tenten picks up the PCD and blinks before grinning.]

He is! His name's Kusari.

...Weird? Kusari are types of weapons, and I'm a weapons master.

What girl? I'm the only girl with one, as far as I knew.

[Tenten laughs.]

Maybe! Maybe he's being a strategist!

[Kusari eyes the PCD and tilts his head.]

[Have a GIANT VULTURE HEAD on your screen. Or, rather, a normal-sized vulture head way too close to the camera. There might be an Arienette in the background going "see, see, now why can't you learn t'do things like that?"

The bird just hisses at the screen!lizard, and Arienette nudges her way back into view.]

How d'you get to teach the lizards to be strategic?

It's only strategy if cuddling works with anything. Otherwise, he's just getting cozy.

[There's apparent amusement in his tone]

What are you attempting to train Kusari in, Tenten?

He's got claws and fangs and he attacked the larger reptile when he was a newborn. I figured maybe he'd like to learn how to fight. But he doesn't get practice targets.

At least he knows how to go after rabbits.

[A thoughtful hum] Hunger motivates, but certainly he was aware he was in danger as well. Outside of those influences, they seem to be rather complacent creatures.

[Voice] Aw. I know how that goes.

He likes playing and checking out everything. Except when I want him to charge. I'll figure it out.

How is training him going?

It went all right for about fifteen minutes. Then he started getting more interested in shiny things and curling up. We'll get there.

Well, kunai are shiny things, so maybe that will help? [He grins.] I have not tried training Kiyomi yet, but it looks like a good idea!

Hm.

[She pulls out one of her kunai and holds it where Kusari can see it from his perch on a hairbun. He sticks his head down, watching it.]

That might work!

[He's laying in bed and his right arm is covered in bandages and in a sling. Other than that, his other injuries are mostly hidden...except for the large claw marks on his face.]

[Despite these injuries, he looks as cheerful as ever.]

I do! We found these guys in the Waste, and they almost died. Especially this little fellow.

So what did you go up against this time?

Glad they're alright! And he's a cute little guy.

Had a nasty run-in with one of the beasts of the Wastes. Nothing major. Personally, I think that Queen Bunny hired another monster to attack me for revenge.

But I don't want you worrying about little old me. I'll be back on my feet in no time!
