We began potty training this weekend. Saturday was really bad. Sunday was better, but not much progress. Today, I'm on my own with the two kiddos. Katie's being extra needy, Amelia is needing so much more attention, and I've had a headache throughout the entire thing.
It's Spring Break this week for Amelia's preschool. I figured that since we have very little planned, why not begin now? She's been showing some interest in her potty on and off for a while now. I figure that if I wait for her to go, "Mommy, I'm all done with diapers. I'd like my Dora panties now," it'll be uh...never.
She's 3 years old now. Grandparents are pushing me. In addition, we have the added deadline of beginning of September to have her potty trained or she can't go back to preschool. I figure giving us a few months to get this right would help.
So now, we are in Pull-Ups and a 30 minute timer going off constantly. Katie's being extra clingy, which is hard.
It really does sound like she's not quite ready yet. And, you know, she just might decide one day to go for it - it's practically what Anna did. Then again, Anna has a habit of taking her time to do something, then when she starts, just doing it right off the bat. So maybe not such a good counterpoint.
I can't even give you any advice because we got so lucky. (And believe me, it was luck.)
Oh, maybe one thing: is she using a potty seat, or an adapter on a grown-up toilet? Maybe, maybe, try the other one that you're not trying now. Anna hated the potty seat, and when she started, she wanted to be like Mommy and Daddy, and use the regular toilet....

I hear you about her not being quite ready, but she's consistently shown that she needs a gentle push to get things going.
