Getting dangerously close to that 1 month mark

Jan 07, 2013 12:49

I felt like I had gotten into a better posting pattern, but the holidays made a mess of that. I apologize in advance, because this is going to be choppy and long. Heh. Choppy and long ( Read more... )

The Geisha Garden is kind of the most intense thing ever. EVER.

It sounds like you had a lot of fun during the holidays. :)

It was pretty intense. Carey and I want to go back and stay in another "fantasy suite." Most hilarious hundred bucks I ever spent.

Also, I forgot to say - I know it's not ideal that you're having to forego your bonus to pay for the car repairs, but I'm really super glad that that's all that ended up happening, given what you were worried might happen.

Sounds like the best kind of busy holiday.

Except for the womb occupancy question. Seriously... even though it's because they want to love and meet your kid... PATIENCE, PEOPLE! Like you wouldn't proclaim it from the mountain tops when it happens? Jeeze. Just tell people that you and Carey are practicing the process of making babies diligently in the meantime. :)

I should start squicking people out with an overly personal reply. Hahaha. But seriously, I would tell everyone!

The holidays were great. But not perfect. I missed you!

Weird, we were in MPLS too, from Dec 30-Jan 6 visiting friends for New Year's. The weird part is I thought I saw you downtown, but dismissed it because it was, you know, so completely unlikely.

Dude, when and where!? Do you remember what this (very attractive) person was wearing? So weird.

What a great post! I want that house so bad, and to put that hotel room in it. And for Alec to sing you an inappropriate song while I visit. Where's my popcorn while I watch?

HAHAHAHAHA. Haha. Heh. Visualizing all of that, popcorn included.

I cannot tell you how many times I wanted to text you a picture of the sign. It's pink, with a tipping martini, and they're all over Northern IL. I think of you every time I see one.

This post just made me smile from head to toe. :)

I feel like it's weird to say this, since I only know them through your posts, but man, I love Carey's family. Can you get his parents to write a manual or something, so that I will know how to make my family equally (or almost as) fun and cool?

Also, I kind of love that you were in town when the twins were born. If only I had known, I would have had you bring me some pie. ;)

They seriously are excellent people. They did write a book, in fact, and it's (of course) about "authentic engagement." It's on Amazon and called the Art of Convening(I didn't want to link to it directly). If I can let you in on a secret, though: the non-stop interaction and authenticity inevitable wear me out! By the end of the week I just don't want to be valued anymore! Hahaha.

I love that I was there too. I would SO have brought you pie.
