Birthdays and other fun things

That was a birthday party to remember:). There were nine kids there, between 1 and 8 years of age, and even more grown-ups. We had a good time, although there wasn't a lot of room, and I think the birthday girl had the time of her life. We sang Happy Birthday to her, and she managed to blow out the three candles on her cake all by herself. She ( Read more... )

Thanks for good words about new people, I also like finding them everywhere and keeping close to me. Communicating gives us more energy indeed.
Kiddos are so cute. Vlad will have his b-day in some days. So your story about party was actually for me.:)

I hope you'll have a great birthday. The memories of childhood stay with you, and special occasions especially...
Communicating does give you energy, although it can take some away. too. Maybe it all balances out in the end:).

Yeah, I guess it balances out or even gives much more than takes away. Probably communicating with good people gives us much more than takes away. And gathering with mean people only takes our energy away.
We've got 11.55 p.m (we call it 23.55:)) now. And you?

We're one hour behind, so it's only 23.03 here. We have the same system for noting time, I see.

How old is the birthday girl? I bet she looks lovely with her "gear" on! <3

Depression is a bitch, I know. You're so strong. It's good that you survived it on your own (or with the help of a higher force)! It really is a feat!

Little kids are so cute <3

She's three, and her little brother turns two this summer.
I was very lucky with my depression, because it wasn't as bad as they sometimes are, and I got lots of support from friends and family. I don't know about strength, but what I have comes from God. Thank you for your kind words!

That sounds like an adorable party. I hope she'll remember it. I don't think I remember any of mine from when I was younger, which is a shame. If anything at least there will be pictures she can look back on, right? :-)

I think that's great that you're comfortable meeting new people. I find I'm like that in certain situations and not in others. If the new people I meet tend to talk about themselves a lot and show no interest in getting to know me (I end up asking questions to get to know them) I tend to lose interest, as I feel it should go both ways. I'm glad you're doing better now, and that you found therapy helpful. <3

I know what you mean. People often love talking about themselves, which is natural, but conversation should be a give and take situation. It's funny, that I have this job that doesn't really involve meeting people. I'm probably happier translating than having a more social job. If I was always having to be sociable, I would probably enjoy it less.
I don't remember any birthdays of mine under the age of maybe seven, but this little girl will have lots of pics to look at from the great event:). I think kids remember feelings better than actual events, at least I did.
