Yesterday for the first time my boss gave me permission to work from home. This is cool because it lets me 1, spend almost 2 more hours of my life doing something other than driving (such as sleeping in!); 2, be near my spouse even while working; and 3, save gas money. We are rooting for lots more days like this ( Read more... )

Ideally you would be able to wait until after you're hired permenantly, but just like sexual orientation being outted is in fact an invasion of privacy and you have every right to keep your religious beliefs to yourself. If it's ever asked why you didn't mention it before the simple fact is you are under no obligation to do so, nor are you now under any obligation to talk about it now that it's known.

Be that as it may if you are interested in having a conversation with your boss you might take a humorous approach that spins into a positive, professionally.

You: "Hey, have ever seen one of those bumper stickers that says 'tree hugging dirt worshipers?'"
Boss: "yeah/er... no"
You: "Yeah, well, I am one and who better to be a soil conservationist than someone who worships it."

Scorpio is your moon sign, yes? Mine, too, and I hear you loud and clear about the privacy and boundaries. Maybe Ranch Guy gave you a perfect opening, though, to laughingly share the rumors about your Minister Husband building the next Vatican. Then you can downplay what you're really doing and make the rumor seem extra silly.

On the other hand, downplaying a stone henge... *sigh* this could get interesting.

hehe Maybe you could invite the boss to dinner and then casually, as if he were one of us, say "so would you like to see the henge?"

Actually, I wonder if the Henge isn't actually the best way to open the door to this. Everybody thinks that Stonehenge is cool, don't they? So isn't it cool to be making one of your own?

I think the Henge opens the door softly too.

Normal is a setting on a dryer... jodee182 December 8 2006, 06:48:53 UTC
People talk. Regardless of if its true or not, or what the rumor mill says.
"I heard her husband/dad hits her, that's why blah blah blah"
"Didn't you hear? Her first husband blah blah blah."
"She's a blah blah blah religion, that's why... yada yada yada."
Now, if you know people are already talking, you need to decide whether you want to set the record straight, or let the rumors get started. It's definately hard to feel as if you have no choice but to expose part of your personal beliefs, but it may be harder to fix a misrepresentation of what you believe.
From what I can tell most people are afraid of things they don't understand or aren't the "norm" (although to me normal is still just a setting on a dryer)People may talk (or have a negative reaction to)witchcraft beacuse in most places its considered taboo.
I don't think I'm providing anymore information, it's just something to think about.
But for what it's worth, I think it's freaking awesome that you have your own henge =P
