With auditions sorted, I finally got around to inviting Catherine over to dinner. I haven't gone to such lengths for a date in quite a while, but I've really been looking forward to this all day - a lot

Cat had opted for casual, but on the dressy side of that scale with a pair of light slacks and blue peplum top. When the door opened to her knock she smiled at his outfit. "I'd say we have excellent taste in clothes. As well as great minds think alike." Her nose crinkled with her teasing smile.

I lean in to kiss her before letting her come in.

"I'll agree on the great minds, but I don't think I can keep up with your good looks."

Cat lets the kiss linger before she steps through into his place. "Oh I don't know about that. I think you keep up very well with looks." She smiles over her shoulder before inhaling the aroma. "And I know you have me beat on the cooking skills. It smells wonderful."

I shut the door and step up to her from behind so I can speak directly in her ear.

"I've had a strong incentive to give it my best - I was expecting a beautiful lady over for dinner."
