Maleficent's reading and writing skills improved since she'd started practicing them. Most common words she could read at a glance, and she was able to figure out most uncommon ones by sounding them out. When her pie arrives, it's with a red dog following it, nose twitching as it sniffs the trail of scent the pie leaves hanging in the air.

The owner, [a man just paying for his coffee-to-go if she spotted the pair before the dog slunk away], apparently hasn't noticed the dog's straying yet. At least no one is looking or calling for the dog.

It sits down next to the table with the pie and its eyes move from the plate to the woman who ordered it and back, silently begging.

Maleficent looked back to the dog, then to the blueberry pie, then to the dog again, then asks the dog directly, "I suppose you would like some of this pie?"

The reply is a definite "Woof!" Which alerts the owner, making him turn.

"Red! What're ya doing, mate? Come here!" He picks up his coffee and walks towards his dog and the woman his pet is staring at. "Sorry, he's usually well behaved."

"He is very well-behaved," Maleficent replied. With a smile, she held out the plate for the dog to take the pie. "He asked politely if he could share my meal."

Legolas entered the cafe and searched for Maleficent. Upon spotting the beauty, he smiled. "Greetings, fair Maleficent. I see that you are practicing the common language, how go the studies?" He asked as he gracefully took a seat across from her.

"I've done well. What have you been up to since last I saw you?" He flashed her another smile and waved over one of the servers to order some chamomile tea and a banana nut muffin.
