[Forward dated to January 2] A Wedding - Finally (Gathering Style)

Jan 01, 2015 19:21

Buffy hadn't dragged her feet getting married to Riley out of cold feet or any doubts about her feelings for him. The long engagement had more to do with waiting for the Powers That Be to drop that final shoe bringing in Sam to the village just as they were married. However, that hadn't happened, and she hadn't wanted Riley to be taken from her ( Read more... )

Ares didn't do weddings. Not that there was anything wrong with them, it was that it was more Aphrodite's thing. This was a wedding of two warriors. True, not his kind of warriors. They were more like Gabriel than Xena but warriors nonetheless.

So he made an appearance in a sparkle of white by the bar. If he was going to a wedding, he was going to drink.

Buffy was used to Aphrodite coming and going like that but it still took her aback when she saw a male. She had to think through the temples in the village with statues and suddenly recognized him. Get out! He was probably the last person that she'd expect to see here.

She approached him at the bar and motioned for the bartender to pour her a glass of white wine. "Hi. Thanks for coming." Buffy really hoped that didn't mean there was going to be a war or something here. Because that would probably just be her luck.

Ares hefted a large tankard of beer, and took a deep sip before he acknowledged Buffy had spoken. "I wouldn't miss a wedding of two warriors that also has Aphrodite's approval."

Yeah he would have, but curiosity brought him here more than anything.

"Huh? Warriors don't marry in Greece?" Buffy was a little surprised at that.

Zoe - OTA, gentle nudge to d'Artagnan drhartdixie January 3 2015, 00:36:36 UTC
Zoe had been dreading the day and was thrilled that d'Artagnan had agreed to go with her. The last wedding she'd gone to Wade had dropped his bomb about cheating on her. Since d'Artagnan broke her dancing curse, she was hoping he'd break this one. Besides, he was cute and she liked being with him.

She took a deep breath and headed into the room looking for the bride to say congratulations before going in search for her date.

Really, d'Artagnan felt nearly naked.

These clothes were so thin.

But he was told by the clothier that this was what one wore to a wedding in this year. Here he was.

When he saw Zoe, though, he smiled brightly. "Hello."

"Holy crap you look great." Zoe had opted for a short black dress. She was partial to white dresses but figured Buffy would probably kill her if she wore that color.

"Uh, not that you normally don't look great but you look really good in the tuxedo."

That she too was nearly naked belatedly occurred to him and he swallowed and kept his gaze most determinedly on her face. "You look, as always, beautiful. Thank you," he said then, looking down at himself. "It is what I was told is appropriate for a wedding."

Kilrenko loves weddings. Especially for those she considers a friend, so naturally she's at Buffy's. Far more demure than her usual attire, she wears a white and gold dress as she circulates through the reception.

Buffy was making the rounds of saying hi, when she wasn't smiling with a dopey smile at Riley. When she saw Kilrenko, Buffy's smile went from dopey to warm. "Hey you. You look fabulous."

Kil turns a bright smile to Buffy. "Not as wonderful as you do... Congratulations!" Kilrenko gushes. She steps forward to offer a supportive hug.

"Thanks." Buffy returned the hug and was happy that the other shoe hadn't dropped in the celebration. At least not yet. "Any excuse for a party, right?"

Riley cannot seem to get the dopey grin from ear-to-ear off of his face the entire day. Saying 'I do' to Buffy was the easiest thing in his life, feeling overwhelmed by happiness when it was all officially and they were officially married. It just seemed right. He was in a tuxedo. As he mingled, his eyes often trailed over to Buffy. He couldn't help it - she looked amazing today. Well, she looked amazing every day.

Buffy slid up behind Riley and put her arms around his waist, resting her chin against his spine. "Hello, husband." Yeah, she'd never get tired of saying that.

If he could have smiled any wider, he would have. "Hello, wife." It would take hundreds of years for him to tired of that, too. "Having a good time?" He wanted to make sure she wasn't stress out over the small details - everything seemed to be going smooth from what he observed.

"I'm having the best time ever." Buffy was honest about that, if biased.
"Though I'm looking forward to our alone time." She wouldn't say honeymoon because no real one, but their beginning as married people. And man was that the best and most terrifying thought.

Spike and Drusilla had not been 'invited' per say, but the invitation had caught their attention. Drusilla wanted to go, desperately, partly to dance and partly because she knew it would get under the Slayer's skin. She wore a red and black dress and 'brr'd' as they entered the 'winter wonderland'. It was far too... wholesome for her taste, her eyes roaming around, taking in the surroundings with hard judgement on her face. Ick.

There was no way he was going to miss the party of the Slayer and anyone that wasn't Angelus. Too bad Angel wasn't there, too. It would be fun to rub salt in that particular wound.

He slid up next to Dru, wrapping his arms around her. "It could use a little blood with the white." Too bad the village wouldn't let them have fun at the Slayer's party.

She smiled to him, imagining the tables dripping in blood. It would improve the place quite a lot. "So much happiness that will not last." She half sung, letting her palm press against Spike's chest.

Spike snickered at that. He loved it when Dru had predictions that hurt the Slayer. "Death?" He could always hope!
