Spike didn't need much help with throwing things, he was bloody good with railroad spikes being thrown into victims. But he was getting rusty (no pun intended) and he could always be better with the crossbow. So while there were others using traditional bow and arrow, Spike was using bolts and a crossbow.

He hadn't hit a bullseye yet but he hadn't embarrassed himself either.

"You have good form." Legolas admired Spike's talent. "Have you added modifications to the crossbow?" It was the fastest the elf had ever seen. He knew the more draw weight the crossbow carried, the faster it was. "Here, try raising the crossbow a bit, not much...bolts tend to travel in a downrange motion, with a little added height, you may be more centered. Go on, try it." He was by no means demeaning Spike's talent, only offering advice. It seemed to the elf that Spike was a natural.

"Not a thing, mate. Just me." Spike smirked and did as he suggested, the bolt hit true and deeper into the target. Yeah, he liked that. All he had to do was picture the Slayer with that in her heart.

"Thanks. That worked better."

The raised an eyebrow. No modifications? This man was impressive with a crossbow. "Have you been an archer long?" Legolas inquired.

At last, Maleficent thought upon seeing Legolas. Another of the Fair Folk. Little did she know he was not of her world...

She approached confidently, her walking stick digging into the ground with every step of her left foot, her horned head held high and with a smile upon her lips.

Legolas welcomed Maleficent with a warm smile. He could sense she was not human...perhaps an elf like himself? But what of the horns on her head? She did not reak of evil like the orcs of his home world, but she did carry a bit of darkness--there was light in her still.

And there was an air of royalty about her as well...

"Greetings fair lady. I am Legolas of the woodland realm." He gave her a courteous bow.

Maleficent inclined her head towards him in acknowledgement. "Greetings, Legolas of the Woodland Realm," the fae replied, giving him the dignity of the full title by which he introduced himself. "I am Maleficent, guardian of the Moors."

She continued approaching until she was within easy conversational distance. "You've no idea how glad I am to see another fae," she confided.

"Pleasure to meet your acquaintance, fair Maleficent."

"The Moors? Are you from Middle Earth?" Legolas wondered where this beautiful and elegant creature might be from. It did not seem likely that she was from his home world, but it did not hurt to ask. "I am an elf if that is what you mean by fae. We have been referred to as such by the world of man."
