Early to School

Ever since noticing that Scott was gone, Stiles was very quiet. He still went to work and school- actually, he never had better grades than at this moment, but it was only because he was lying to himself and pretending nothing was wrong. All his focus was going into school, but even he knew he was bound to break down over his best friend being gone ( Read more... )

Liz's morning classes had been cancelled, but she hung around to study and wait for her afternoon ones. She was in the field with her binder out when a gust decided to steal a few pieces of papers and blow them toward the field. Liz scrambled after them.

Stiles notices the papers as he is going to pick up the ball. He stops what he's doing and goes after them too, then he spots the girl as he picks one up.

"Hey, are these yours?" Okay, so he assumes they are but still.

"Uh, yeah." She smiled sheepishly as she scooped down to pick up one of her own. "Sorry. I didn't mean to interrupt your practice."

"Nah, it's cool. I'm not really practicing. I just..." He reached over to hand her the paper he'd grabbed. "I'm just bored, I guess."

Krissy might have noticed Stiles in the hall and followed him out. She was aware Scott wasn't at school, but she hadn't yet made the connection he was completely gone.

"I don't know how to play, but want me to pretend?" She up-nodded to the goalie.

"Sure." Stiles grimaced as he picked up the ball. "I probably wont really be playing for a while anyway."

The school didn't have a team, but he and Scott still had played one-on-one every so often. Scott always won, of course, but it was still fun.

"You know, you and Scott should just try to start a team. Maybe people at school have no idea what lacrosse is." She moved to the net.

"Okay, so, is this like soccer or football?"

Stiles was about to throw, but instead to stopped and blinked. "No, no it's nothing like soccer or football." Well, okay it was sort of like soccer. "It was originally a game that the Native Americans played. Up in Canada the natives had games that consisted of like 1000 men on each team and they would play from sunrise to sunset for three days straight! It was like a ceremonial ritual and it symbolized warfare. They called it something like "The Master's Game'. But, it was a little smaller here in the tribes of the US I think, but it was still a religious thing. But, yeah, so it's so much better than soccer."

Stiles scoffed when he said 'soccer'. "Anyway, Scott's gone, Krissy, so I don't think that'll work."
