He paused, not sure what to do. Liz looked like she was waiting for someone, maybe a friend, and he didn't want to intrude. He also didn't want it to look like he was ignoring her either. With a mental shrug, he approached with a small smile. "Hello, Liz."

"Max. Hi." She forced a pretty believable smile, but her mouth kept going before she realized what she was saying. "What are you doing here?"

God, she wished Maria was here.
She paused and felt like she had been caught stealing a precious painting from a world renowned museum.
"I'm going out to eat, too." She smiled again, this time a little awkwardly perhaps.
"On a date." She blurted quickly like that might make the whole thing easier to say. It wasn't. She felt awful.

When he gets off the elevator, he sees Liz and he smiles. She looks great. He forwent the flowers until he knows she likes them.
"Hey."
He's smiling.
"You look great."

She inwardly sighed and smiled outwardly to Roman. "Thanks. You look great too. I wasn't sure where we were going so I'm glad this is okay."
