Believe it or not, but Kyla wasn't actually following her father today - she just happened to be out at the same time. She was walking with John in a stroller in front of her. Ginger and Ripper, her dogs, framed the two of them as they walked. It seemed that her dogs were almost as protective of her son as they were of her father. It was a good thing.

"Dad." She saw him a little ways away and hurried to close the distance.

He stopped when he heard his daughter and turned to greet her with a smile.

"Kyla," John said.

He looked at his grandson and knelt slightly to greet him.

"And hello to you, John." He said.

John smiled. "Hi!" He seemed happy to see the older man.

"Looks like the leg is completely healed. No more limping."

"Good as new," He replied with a small smile. "You look good, too, Kyla."

John had never seen his daughter so healthy before. It was nice, if not surreal, and pained him that at some point she would have to go back to their world.
