Buffy had learned long ago that she could do more with the help of others than by herself. Sure, she bossed people around and was the General in a lot of ways with the others that helped both in Sunnydale and other places but she knew as she stood at the entrance to the lobby and looked into the ballroom, that this wouldn't have been pulled off

Zoe - OTA

Zoe was dressed in a strapless blue dress. This was what she'd missed. Celebrations like this. Sure Planksgiving and all the fun festivals in Bluebell were great but they didn't have dress up balls. At least not ones that didn't include hoop skirts AND NO LEMON BREELAND. So Zoe was enjoying this while she could, indulging in dancing, eating and drinking but especially in conversations with people she knew and others she was going to get to know.

Zoe grinned, "deal. We'll both grimace and yelp if we step on each other's toes."

[wearingacar]

That got Frank laughing. "Deal." And in the middle of the dance floor, he assumed the position; a hand going to her hip and one for her hand.

Zoe put her hand in his and the other around his shoulder.

"I think I remember what to do." She teased. "It's like riding a bike, right?"

[wearingacar]

Frank laughed again. "We'll find out, I guess?" And his smile softened and went crooked as he started to sway with her.

After a few minutes, Zoe began to relax and not pay attention to where her feet were. At least not as closely as before.

"So how are we going to celebrate if we survive this?" She was teasing.

"Well," Frank said, feeling pretty good. "I could take my chances and offer to take you to dinner, hoping you don't get food poisoning?"

[drhartdixie]

"Well lucky for you if I do get food poisoning I'm a doctor so I know what to prescribe." Zoe teased, "which I won't need but I'll take the chance if you're willing to take it."

[wearingacar]

"Sounds like a deal," Frank said.

Of course, it was just then that he stepped on Zoe's toe. "Fu - God. Sorry!"

"Hey did you do that so you don't have to take me to dinner to celebrate?" Zoe asked on a laugh as her hand gently rubbed his shoulder where it lay.

"No! I didn't. Really," he said, blowing out a deep breath to look over at her. "I didn't break anything, did I?"

Zoe grinned and lightly hit him on the shoulder, "I know you didn't and you didn't break anything. I promise. I've had worse when Burt Reynolds stepped on my foot."

"...Burt Reynolds? Like the Burt Reynolds?!"

[drhartdixie]

Zoe shook her head, "nope, the mayor's pet alligator Burt Reynolds. He's a fan of all of his movies. The alligator not Lavon. Though I have a feeling that Lavon is, too he just won't admit it."

[wearingacar]

That was a lot to take in; it took Frank a minute. "... Lavon's the mayor?" Just to make sure he understood what was what and who was who.

"And my best friend, yeah. He has a pet alligator that he calls Burt Reynolds." Zoe tried to explain. "Did I mention that I live in a very eccentric small town in Alabama?"
