Tyr knew that using the pager was not the way to get in contact with the god of war. He didn't seem to have a temple to go to, which would have been the logical place. Tyr decided to go to the gun range and see if some practice might not just draw Ares' attention

Ares was generally aware of warriors in the village. So, when one of the few that he truly considered a warrior went to the shooting range Ares appeared in a shimmer of light near him.

The abrupt appearance was enough to make one of the bullets in the grouping stray about an inch and a half from the main cluster. Normally Tyr would be upset by such an interruption but he knew better. He set down his weapon and took off the hearing protection.

"I understand you mentioned me to a family member. I'm flattered." He didn't know if there was more to it than that. "Was there something you wanted?"

Best to come out and ask.

"Just curious." Ares crossed his arms over his chest, a hint of a smile on his features as he saw the barely missed shot even with his appearance. Still, one of the few true warriors in the village.

"I noticed her fighting style and wondered if she was a protege or only a member of your family."

The answer had been not Tyr's protege of fighter and that had told Ares all he needed to know. The warrior trusted her enough to watch his children but didn't see enough to train her himself.

"A member of my family, as I'm sure you learned," Tyr said. She came with Sonya and Tyr accepted that. "She doesn't fight conventionally and she's younger than she looks."

She didn't need to train with the weapons Tyr had.

"Certain natural abilities, so she fits in with the pride." He was somewhat smug about it, and he hadn't had to do anything to get her.
