Not His Favorite Time of the Year [ota]

Dec 13, 2012 11:07

Lucifer was in a horrible mood. Every day that drew closer to the holiday of Christmas made him more and more moody and he was prone to showing it to people around him, too. He had yelled at one of his employees at the pub simply for spilling a few drops of beer from the spout. Christmas time was a horrible time of the year.

One of his npc ( Read more... )

(ooc: will keep this short as I am leaving the country on saturday, but I couldn't resist :D )

Xas was, unsurprisingly, in the same spirit. Looking exactly like God's son came with its own set of challenges. It made the angel surly. And it made him seek out the one, perhaps in the world, who would understand.

He stepped inside this ... place and looked around. In seeing Lucifer, he headed in that direction, silently.

{Wow! Have fun. *g*}

He sensed Xas enter, but he focused on crushing a red bulb. It shattered into pieces and he let the tiny metal pieces fall to the ground.

"Xas," He said, then looked up to look at him.

Sitting across from him, Xas smiled at him, just a little, arching a brow. "Not feeling the spirit?" All the cheer was irritating.

(thanks! :D )

"Depends on what spirit you mean." He replied as he grabbed a ornament shaped as a present and crunched it with a fist.

He wasn't the only one in the Black Sheep without the Christmas spirit, but then Raven's mood had nothing to do with the season-- not that seeing all the decorations and happy people was doing much to help it.

She hadn't left her room on her own much after Rory died, but today found her venturing out by herself due to a need to escape everyone's hovering. She appreciated that they were worried about her, but the pity was starting to get to be a bit much.

Raven was at the back of the pub too, sipping at a beer and trying to decide if she actually wanted to eat something or just get really really drunk. She watched the man as he crushed the ornaments in silence. Wondering why the hell he was doing that was helping to distract her from other more painful things.

Every ornament he picked, Lucifer seemed to avoid the one angel ornament that hung on the dead tree. It was the human's representation of Gabriel. It wasn't a noticeable avoidance, but he was doing it.

Gabriel had been at her wedding, had been Rory's best man even. But she didn't notice that he was avoiding that specific one, nor would she have recognized that it was meant to be any specific angel if she had.

She did wonder why no one was yelling at him for breaking the ornaments.

"You could just knock the tree over... would be quicker than breaking each ornament individually." Raven noted, her tone not particularly judgmental or otherwise. In fact it pretty much lacked any sort of enthusiasm at all.

"Ah, but then I wouldn't have the satisfaction of feeling each of them crumple," He replied as he crushed another one and sent the remains to the ground.

He looked in her direction casually and added, "And I can almost feel all the die hard Christmas lovers' hearts breaking each time I destroy one."

Lucifer smiled with a tinge of resentment.

John had decided to go out for lunch, and something about an British pub had a vaguely familiar appeal. Of course, there was no telling what was really familiar, what with the Strangers having messed with his memories.

He was looking around for a table when he noticed the familiar sharply-dressed man he'd met before in the arcade. Curious what was going on with the Christmas tree, John stepped over.

"Jerry, hello - some trouble with your tree?"

He glanced up and recognized the man. Lucifer smiled politely in greeting.

"Not anymore, I've got the situation under control now," He replied as he threw a destroyed plastic ornament into the garbage.

"Tis the season, I suppose." John said. He'd false memories of the holidays as a child, though they were vague. "I think this is the first place I've been in during the last week that isn't playing holiday music all the time."

"And with good reason," He said with a nod. "If I so much as hear a bell that jingles or a count down involving fowl, I'm firing someone."

Lucifer could related to Scrooge this time of year. Bah humbug.
