Not His Favorite Time of the Year [ota]

Lucifer was in a horrible mood. Every day that drew closer to the holiday of Christmas made him more and more moody and he was prone to showing it to people around him, too. He had yelled at one of his employees at the pub simply for spilling a few drops of beer from the spout. Christmas time was a horrible time of the year.

(ooc: will keep this short as I am leaving the country on saturday, but I couldn't resist :D )

Xas was, unsurprisingly, in the same spirit. Looking exactly like God's son came with its own set of challenges. It made the angel surly. And it made him seek out the one, perhaps in the world, who would understand.

He stepped inside this ... place and looked around. In seeing Lucifer, he headed in that direction, silently.

{Wow! Have fun. *g*}

He sensed Xas enter, but he focused on crushing a red bulb. It shattered into pieces and he let the tiny metal pieces fall to the ground.

"Xas," He said, then looked up to look at him.

Sitting across from him, Xas smiled at him, just a little, arching a brow. "Not feeling the spirit?" All the cheer was irritating.

(thanks! :D )

"Depends on what spirit you mean." He replied as he grabbed a ornament shaped as a present and crunched it with a fist.

"The one that inspires this village to gild itself as its inhabitants buy things for each other, thinking that speaks of love," Xas answered. "If only they knew." That even the "real" reason was flawed.

"Oh, that one," He said as he threw the ruined ornament away. "Then, no."

Lucifer sat back in his seat.

"I'm more a fan on Easter." He added.

"The chocolate is good," Xas agreed. "I have planted grapevines here." Yes, like Sobran's, where Lucifer had journeyed to save Xas. The inky pearls shone against the angel's skin.

"It'll take a while for those to be useful." Lucifer commented, glad they were off the subject of Christmas. "Planning on making some wine?"

A nod. "It will be a next year before we even get grapes." Not a long time. ButCas found himself impatient anyway."The soil is good. The farm is run by a Roman. A soldier made a slave."

"I could always appreciate the Romans. They liked their entertainment," He said.

Lucifer liked them less once they decided to adopt Christianity.

"Sounds like you're settling in, Xas." He observed, then picked up another ornament to destroy. "You know, you should try this. It's really therapeutic."

"If we cannot leave, why not do something." Xas answered with a shrug. But he did smile a bit at the suggestion. "Something more than destroy."

"Ah, but it's so rewarding." Lucifer countered with a smile of his own.

"And who cleans up your mess?" Xas asked with an arch of the brow.

"Are you asking literally or figuratively?" Lucifer asked.

He didn't really care who did, however. It was generally fun to cause chaos.

Which had been a point of contention, really. A small one. "In this case," the angel answered, "literally."

"My employees." He answered easily. "Who should have known better than to let someone put this up in the first place. I mean, really. Christmas has no place in a British pub."
