Halloween 31st Oct - The Masked/Costume Ball

Oct 29, 2006 22:59

The Opera House had turned out the most perfect venue Sarah could have imagined to hold the ball and Edward had done a brilliant job in helping to organise it, especially since Sarah's mind had been on other things for much of the week ( Read more... )

Paige arrived soon after the ball started, walking in nervously and wondering if maybe the costume and mask she'd chosen was a little over the top, particularly with the pure white hair which had actually been a mistake on her part.

Luckily the woman that was already there looked at least as dressed up as she did which help her relax a little, now if she could just find someone to talk too maybe she could forget the fact she was dressed in something more suited to a medieval princess, maybe she should have gone for something a little more modern, still it was too late now.

He sees her from across the room. He watches her for a moment before sneaking over and behind her, slithering up to her in his soldier's uniform. Hands over her eyes, he leans in to nibble at her neck. "Guess who?"

He'd told her he couldn't make it. He had a poem that simply needed to be written. It had been a trick, of course. He'd wanted to surprise her.

Grinning she snaked an arm around his waist, glad he'd made it, it wouldn't have been the same without him really.

She made a point of thinking despite the fact she was certain she was sure she'd be able to find him in a darkened room even if there were a hundred other people there too.

"Hmmm, I'm not sure, but if you're about to seduce me you'd better make it quick I told my boyfriend I'd not be out too late," she teased.

"Boyfreind, eh. Must be one lucky guy." Hands planted at her hips turned her around to face him. "You look ravishing, my lady."

She stood at the edge of the dance floor, sipping white wine to calm her nerves, she hoped more than anything people would actually come to this, and most importantly that Jareth would show up soon to give her a little moral support.

Bettie Page came traipsing in just at dark. Well--it looked like Bettie Page, anyway. Black lingerie, high heels, long black satin gloves...crimson eyes to match her lipstick, and of course, a pair of cute little batwings.

As threatened, there was now a succubus wandering around the ball.

And a gladiator, wandering in, whose eyes are attracted to her immediately

Thea chuckled throatily. "I didn't know if you'd go through with it," she purred in her you-are-so-in-for-it-later-my-lad tone of voice. "Welcome. How are you?"

His eyes skimmed over her appreciatively.

"I am doing good. This is a little drafty though..."

A part of him was damning him and his accurate mind. Under the skirt of metal was only a loincloth, a very thing, skimpy one, at that.

Sally came limping in stiffly, looking around with her ovrsized eyes. A pair of little skeleton-fish were swimming busily around her.

She didn't see Adam yet, but she was sure he was planning to make quite an entrance. And he already knew who she was going as.

There was something weirdly comforting about being in disguise. It helped her shyness; normally she wouldn't even go to a big public thing like this. But then again...it was Halloween.

Harold bounced over, looking very cute and yellow as Pikachu.

Snowball was behind him, looking very green as Bulbasaur.

The bunny in the mix..well. It's just a bunny.

"HI!!"

Sally blinked with her usual glacial slowness, then bent down stiffly. Only when she heard the squeaky voice was she able to hazard any kind of a guess as to the true nature of her diminutive guest.

"Oh noes! It's the Cute Patrol! Whatever shall I do?" she giggled.

Lucy hadn't been out and about as much lately, something she was attempting to remedy tonight. Halloween wasn't really her thing, but dancing certainly was, and she did like dressing up occasionally. It wasn't very much of a costume - a fancy dress and a pair of wings that had somehow ended up in her wardrobe - but she didn't feel quite so nervous the more she looked around at everyone else. At the moment though, she decided to just watch for a bit and see who showed up.

Tom had also found a costume in his closet, apparently it was from the same movie or something as Lucy's. He tried it on after she had left, laughing at how much she was going to kill him for this. Ah well, he had had a good run.

"Lucy?"

Lucy? Staaaaaaares, before shutting her eyes tight.

If she ignores it, the hallucination will go away.

She opens one eye and looks back over at him.

Oh Aslan, why is it not going away?

"You know," she says weakly, "I had been under the impression that *Angel* was the cross dresser of the group."

She's reached new levels of red tonight. He should be impressed.

Tom laughed, shrugging his shoulders.

"She taught me a few tricks. Besides, I didn't choose it, it was waiting for me when I looked in my closet this morning. Chelsea liked it..."
