Halloween 31st Oct - The Masked/Costume Ball

Oct 29, 2006 22:59

The Opera House had turned out the most perfect venue Sarah could have imagined to hold the ball and Edward had done a brilliant job in helping to organise it, especially since Sarah's mind had been on other things for much of the week ( Read more... )

Paige arrived soon after the ball started, walking in nervously and wondering if maybe the costume and mask she'd chosen was a little over the top, particularly with the pure white hair which had actually been a mistake on her part.

Luckily the woman that was already there looked at least as dressed up as she did which help her relax a little, now if she could just find someone to talk too maybe she could forget the fact she was dressed in something more suited to a medieval princess, maybe she should have gone for something a little more modern, still it was too late now.

He sees her from across the room. He watches her for a moment before sneaking over and behind her, slithering up to her in his soldier's uniform. Hands over her eyes, he leans in to nibble at her neck. "Guess who?"

He'd told her he couldn't make it. He had a poem that simply needed to be written. It had been a trick, of course. He'd wanted to surprise her.

Grinning she snaked an arm around his waist, glad he'd made it, it wouldn't have been the same without him really.

She made a point of thinking despite the fact she was certain she was sure she'd be able to find him in a darkened room even if there were a hundred other people there too.

"Hmmm, I'm not sure, but if you're about to seduce me you'd better make it quick I told my boyfriend I'd not be out too late," she teased.

"Boyfreind, eh. Must be one lucky guy." Hands planted at her hips turned her around to face him. "You look ravishing, my lady."

Her breath caught in her throat as she looked up at him, it wasn't that he didn't always look like the most handsome man she'd ever seen but...in costume well he looked even better.

"And you look," she paused wondering if 'pounce-able' was a word, "amazing." She wondered briefly if he was planning on keeping this outfit, or possibly if the hotel because if not there would be one disappointed witch.

"You like it then?" She asked moving away slightly to twirl for him and taking the opportunity to calm down. "The hair went wrong," she admitted leaning up to kiss him.

"You don't like it?" He liked her natural colour better, certainly. But he liked this too. It was different. He ran his fingers through it. "I think it's stunning."

She shrugged slightly at his question. "It was just meant be to be a little less white, I think maybe I was distracted when I was doing it and then I didn't have time to change it back."

She nuzzled her cheek against his hand and smiled up at him. "Thanks, guess I'm stop worrying about it now then. So did the hotel chose this for you or did you pick it yourself?" She asked gesturing to his outfit. "Because it's very nice," she continued with a highly suggestive smile.

He flashed his grin at her, his fingers caressing ehr cheek, thumb moving to trace the curve of her lips. "I've been planning it for weeks. I nearly let it slip so many times."

He stepped back, letting her see the full view. He wasn't sure why he'd chosen it, except he'd heard that women ofte had a weakness for a man in uniform and he'd wanted to make her swoon.

"I'm impressed," she admitted, "I didn't think you'd be that good at keeping secrets or I'd assume you'd be better at poker." She beamed up at him and kissed him once to show she was only teasing.

Yep there was definite swoonage on Paige's part as she looked him up and down wondering if it was really hot in here or if it was just her, or him as the case may be.

"You look...not that you don't normally look...but you know," wow this really was effecting here, she'd started to ramble.

"I'm glad you approve, my lady." He took her hand in his andbrought it to his lips to kiss her knuckles. It was definitely warm in the room. or he was warm. Or both. He could feel the flush touching his cheeks. Staying at the ball for any length of time would be torturous.

Wow he'd understood what she trying to say, not many people spoke 'Paige,' when she got ruffled up, but then he did now her pretty well by now so it shouldn't have suprised her.

Her fingers brushed against his cheeks as he kissed her hand and she moved a little closer. "We really should stay at least a while," she whispered, almost as if she could read his mind, although the same thing that was going through Geoff's mind was also going through her own. "They've obviously gone to a lot of effort."

"Not that I have a problem parading you around and letting the masses know you're mine," he cleared his throat, "as I am yours." He smiled a charming smile and nipped at her bottom lip. "But you'll forgive me if I get distracted thinking about getting you back home, alone."

His words sent a shiver up her spine, because it was so true, she couldn't imagine being without him, she didn't even want to think about what wuld have happened had the Elder's not sent her here.

She wrapped her arms tightly around him a laughed a little, before shaking her head, trying to clear her thoughts. "Only if you'll forgive for having the same thoughts," she told him taking a deep breath and realising it slowly, "but maybe we should go get a drink or something, before I forget where we are and can't be held accountable for my actions."

"I do advise you, my lady. While you are a proper lady, I've no quarrel with being undressed in public." He arched a brow at her, knowing his words ould affect her. It was true, though. He'd just as soon be naked as wearing the uniform.

She stared at him for a moment then swallowed hard, feeling herself flush at his words and the look on this face.

"Geoff, please," she said her tone almost pleading, though whether she was begging him to stop or carry on even she wasn't sure.

Geoff cleared his throat. "Why yes, I believe you said something about a drink?" He turned sideways and held his arm out to her.

Apparently Geoffrey Chaucer has a bit of a naughty streak in him.
