Sam kept an eye on the sanctuary, and when the young-appearing man arrived and began to pray, Sam was aware of it. He was also aware that the praying didn't seem to be bringing him any peace. Sam entered the sanctuary and approached. He didn't call out to him, simply made himself available, letting the other man choose to look up and speak to him, or to continue praying.
Jasper heard him approach from a long way off, and knew very well that he was waiting. He considered for a moment ignoring the priest - he still didn't entirely trust himself around humans, but he also knew that if anyone could offer him solace, it would be God, and his servants.
He turned to face the man, his yellow eyes looking far older than his physical appearance.
Sam heard the question, and he also heard the question behind it. He didn't want to loom over them man so he sat on the pew with him.
"It is a hard thing, to feel out of the reach of God's love. Will you tell me what is making you feel this way at all?" His voice was gentle, but deep and resonant, with an Irish accent.

He raised an eyebrow.
"I have killed hundreds of men in my life. Is that not enough?"
