J.L. showing up had complicated a lot of things in the village for Kyla. She took to training more rigorously than she had been the last couple of weeks and her thoughts returned back to her world more often than they had too. When Friday came around, though, Kyla remembered she had made plans with Varric to meet at the Waffle Place

Varric come in a couple minutes later, dressed in a bit more 'modern' clothing he'd bought at the store the other day. A blue dress shirt and khakis. He'd unbuttoned the first several buttons of the dress shirt though, because his chest hair needed to breathe.

He spotted Kyla at the back of the waffle place, and made his way over, then hopped up into the booth, "Hey there."

Kyla was observant enough to notice the clothes he was wearing weren't quite similar to the ones she had seen him in before. She offered him a small smile when he approached.

"Hey." Thankfully Kyla had been starting to get better sleep so she didn't look too run down. "New clothes?"

He spread out the fabric of his shirt, "Yes, bought it yesterday. Prefer my old clothes, but they needed cleaning, so..."

"I prefer mine too." It wasn't that her clothes were much different from modern clothes, it was just that she wasn't used to having a lot of choice and it felt like a waste of material and resources to have an abundance of clothes. "I've been told I need to buy more colourful stuff."
