Kit was adjusting all right to the village, all things considered. It was a bit annoying to not be able to leave, admittedly, but, then, he hadn't been able to leave Hell the last few decades (well, he could have, but he hadn't really pushed to), so confinement wasn't exactly a new thing. And there were interesting people to watch and stories to ( Read more... )

Fleur had unwittingly become the target of a couple of Aphrodite's spells and enchantments in the goddess' quest to sever the witch's ties with her son. Yet being the tenacious individual that she was, Fleur was willing to take on all the spells that Aphrodite could throw at her. Even still, she was nevertheless a bit more cautious these days, and the Veela kept a sharp eye out for any potentially suspicious magical activity and/or individuals.

This morning, she had decided to resume her search for a decent job to while away her time in the village, and as such, Fleur decided to dress for the part of potential job-seeker. As she was partial to blue, she settled on a lightweight blue dress and matching slippers and set to her job hunt. It wasn't long, however, that she should catch sight of the oddly-dressed man passing by her on the street. Well...odd to Muggles, anyway. "Zat is a very new age look," she commented, a half smile forming on her comely face.

Kit paused in his stroll to give the pretty girl a smile when she spoke, and then a courtly bow out of sync with his jeans but quite in line with the cloak. He gave the latter a slightly rueful look, then bestowed a smile on the girl.

"I suppose it is, but I find it a comfort to keep it with me rather than leave it behind."

How about the Opera House? If not I'll delete. lil_blondeangel June 16 2011, 17:48:50 UTC
Meg was on the front steps of the Opera House, waiting for a new dancer. She was going to give he a tour, help her set up a dressing room, so that when rehearsals started she'd be ready to go.

Kit honestly wasn't sure what he could do at the Opera House--he sang well enough, played an instrument or two, but his talent was for words not music--but Aaron had mentioned it, and he found his feet drawn there on the chance of a possibility, if nothing else.

He saw the young lady waiting there and smiled, giving her a bit of a bow as he drew near. "Good day, mistress."

"Hello." she said, instinctively giving him a slight bob of a curtsy in return. "The manager's not here right now, but I can probably help you with whatever business you have here."

"I'm not sure it's business I have here, yet," Kit said, with a bit of a smile. "So much as an inquiry of any job openings you may have at the moment."

Gabrielle was coming back from a day of gardening at the greenhouse. She had dirt smeared in a few places still, but was cleaning herself off as she walked with the combination of a damp handkerchief and Craft. As usual when she visited the greenhouse, she was dressed in faded jeans and an old shirt, which made the Opal jewel hanging around her neck stand out even more brightly.

[[Craft = magic. And she has pointed ears. More description in her profile]

The prickle of magic drew him before Kit noticed the girl herself. He knew there was plenty of it here, but he hadn't felt it used openly in the streets quite yet. From the jewel to her ears his gaze flickered before coming to her face. He smiled, pausing in his steps. While he'd encountered a few who seemed to know something of his world, he'd yet to come into contact with any Fae here. For all that he'd been truly quite all right with that, he was surprised at the slight lift in his heart.

"Good day, m'lady."

She wasn't Fae, exactly, but that was probably close enough, for her world.

"Hello!" she said, brightly, pausing her scrubbing for a moment.

"A lovely day for gardening," he commented, hazarding a guess for how she'd gotten quite as dirty as she was, and to make conversation without being so rude.

[lol. sorry, thought I could catch the other comment fast enough and missed.]

There was a cat, curled up in the sun on a window sill. She looked asleep, but she wasn't, really. Bast was just a little bored, that's all, and hadn't found anyone interesting to follow, yet.

That is, until Kit walked by. She waited for him to pass, then uncurled, stretched, and hopped down to follow him.

Awareness crawled up Kit's spine, though when he glanced over his shoulder his gaze wasn't immediately drawn to the cat. It should have been. He was used to beings who were more than they seemed. But he looked behind, not down, at first.

It was the third glance back before he saw her, at which point he finally paused, turning totally to squat there, fixing her with his mismatched gaze and giving her a quizzical smile. "Hello there."

"Hello." Came his answer, though whether it was said aloud or in his mind was a matter of debate.

"Off to anywhere in particular?" she yawned, and sat.

He blinked, but he didn't particularly look shocked at a reply from the cat. Live in Faerie long enough and talking animals ceased to be something to amaze, though the power granted him told him still there was something more than met the eye. The cat was no more just a cat than Whiskey was just a horse.

"To the theater and magic school. Perhaps the Opera House," he informed her, looking amused.

I was sitting at one of the tables outside the cafe with an iced coffee, more because you ought to buy something if you're planning on sitting there than because I needed the caffeine. Or any drink at all, really. I'd fed last night, so even without my illusions I still didn't have the usual pallor of my kind, and with them I easily passed for human. Most here knew what I was, of course - but old habits die hard, and I liked my eyes golden instead of black.

Kit's stretched as he moved out of the cafe, working out a knot or two in his back--old injuries that, sadly, all the magic in the world still let flare now and again. Forever young didn't seem to mean invulnerable. Magic didn't work that way for most.

He saw the young woman sitting there. His witch senses sparked, telling him something was different, but not what. There were no such things as true vampires in his world and there were so many different creatures in this village. "Good afternoon."

He had an interesting aura, but one I couldn't quite place. Some sort of witch, for sure.

"It is, isn't it?" I commented with a smile.

"Nice to have a bit of a break from the storms, at least." He was happy enough to keep chatting about the weather, though it was a superficial topic, he knew. At least until he could figure out what she was, or find something else.
