investigate. [[tag to Kerai, Gabriel, Alice, and John. Also Harvey Dent if he'd like to meet her.]]

Erica has three different stops to make today: The Ribbon, a security place, and a candy store. It sounds like the beginning of a terrible joke, but the only joke so far is that no one she’s talked to knows anything about this Belvedere character. It’s like he doesn’t exist, or he only exists when he wants to, and she can see why no one else has ( Read more... )

Alice was sitting behind the counter which she didn't normally do, but they were down an extra man that day to fix the security cameras in the museum so it had to be done.

When Erica entered Alice lifted her head from the paperwork. "Can I help you?"

Walking to the counter, Erica pulls out her badge but keeps her body language loose - no threat here, no one's about to get rail roaded.

"My name is Erica Evans, I'm with Haurvatat PD. I was hoping I could ask you a few questions about the incident that happened at the police station?"

Something about her made Alice remember Jill Valentine, but she quelled the guilt that it mustered up and nodded as she stood up. With her hand, she gestured for Erica to follow her into her office where they would have more privacy.

"What is it do you want to know?" Alice remembered the moments in that station vividly. She was constantly running the events over in her head to try and figure out what she could have done differently.

Erica follows her, putting her badge away, and when they're in the room she speaks again.

"I'm specifically looking for information relating to Wesker's disappearance. He had the help of Jerry Belvedere. Do you know anything about that man?"

Gabriel hadn't even been at the candy shop when Erica arrived, he'd been making Aaron do most of the work anymore, leaving him more time to do-- well, whatever Trickster Angels did on their free time when they weren't allowed to mess with anyone. So, yeah, basically he'd been doing nothing.

Which was why he simply appeared next to Erica the moment she stepped into the store. He'd sensed that she'd been looking for him, and frankly he didn't have anything better going on. Plus appearing next to her would be sure to scare that crap out of her. Bonus.

"Hey, there."

Erica does indeed startle, taking a full step back right into a lollipop display. "Son of a bitch!" is all she manages to exclaim while she tries to compose herself again. So much for putting out a professional air.

"I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you're Gabriel."

Gabriel grins widely at her reaction. Showing up had definitely been worth it.

"That limb would be the correct one. So, to what do I owe the pleasure?"

"Erica Evans, Haurvatat PD. I'd like to ask you a few questions about the disappearance of Wesker after the riot at the police station," she explains.

Dent walked back towards his office with a stack of copied files in his hand when he saw the new officer at her desk and stopped. John had mentioned that Evans was the new officer on the Wesker case.

"Officer Evans?" Harvey asked, pausing near her desk.

Erica looks up, knowing that he works in the building, but not sure exactly who he is. Just that he's not a cop.

"That's me," she says with a half smile, taking the aspirin with a gulp of water from a water bottle. "You are...?"

"Dent," he extended his hand across the desk, managing serious and friendly at the same time. "Harvey Dent, the DA around here."

Erica shakes his hand. "Nice to meet you. Chief McClane told me I'd meet you if I started hanging out around here long enough," she says with a half smile.

Today, the stuffed bear, Theodora, has relocated from John's shelf to her desk; silent communication. She notices it as she's smirking at using John's official title.

"You get very busy around here?"

Kerai was at the Ribbon, as usual, this time she dusting.

She and Ceridwen had hung brightly colored fabric festoons draping from ceiling to the walls in an attempt to drive away the winter grays. The effect would be lost, however, if she let them get dingy, so she was on a ladder, shaking them, and singing of course. Jude was lying near the fireplace -- what Kerai was Weaving causing him no anxiety at all.

"Little Darlin', it's been a long cold lonely winter.
Little Darlin', it seems like years since it's been here.
Here comes the sun, do do do do, Here comes the sun,
And I say, it's all right..."

Erica walks into the Ribbon after lunch, a little calmer after her 'talk to a wall' conversation with Gabriel. Knowing that this is the last stop before she can go to her desk and start piecing together different things makes her feel a little better. She's heard through the grapevine that Ruby's been staying here, so mostly she hopes she doesn't have to deal with her.

The song relaxes her once it reaches her ears, and she's curious about Kerai. Clearing her throat to make her presence known, she waits to be addressed.

"Little Darling, the smiles returning to their faces,
Little Darling, it seems like years since it's been clear..."

Jude noticed the newcomer first and let out a soft whuff, and rose to his feet to come sniff her.

Kerai kept an eye on her visitor's body language to make sure she had no problem with dogs, as she climbed down the ladder.

She blinked for a moment at the woman who looked exactly like Juliet, but not pregnant, and who didn't feel like her in the Weave, but she recalled herself.

"Good greeting, I am Kerai. How can I help you?"

Erica reaches down and lets the dog sniff her hand before looking at Kerai.

"My name is Erica Evans. I'm with the police department. I was wondering if I could ask you just a few questions if you don't mind."

John notices Erica come in. He also notices the aspirin grab. See, this is why he didn't want to be in the office away from everyone; these little clues are important. He walks over to her desk with a cup of water to wash the aspirin down.

"That's not the sign of a successful day of investigating."

"Oh, well see, that's why the village made you chief. You're so observant," she says with a weary smile, thanking him for the water before taking the two pills.

"I think my head found that brick wall you were talking about."

"Yeah, that one's got a few of my headprints in it. Were you able to find out anything at all?" He wanted to give her a neck rub, but that would have to wait until they were alone later.

Erica sighs a little. "I'm pretty sure that Wesker and Belvedere are literally underground. So I took the liberty of checking around? There are catacombs under the village." She holds out her hands in a 'maybe?' gesture.
