Author Notes: I've been hooked on the idea of this friendship(I guess you would call it that) since I saw this
Video for them. So Just had to try my hand at them. Completely AU. Expend your imagination where DF stuff is concerned. Though not explained here, there is a reason why Flynn can hear Vidia. All mistakes are my own. I really really hate naming fics especially ficlets.
Just Another Escape
She flew ahead to make sure the coast was clear. The fairy wondering how she came to this point as she hovered in the air, arms crossed.
“It’s clear. Hurry up!” she hissed back into the trees, eyes trained on the clumsy male as he made his way through the thicket.
“We don’t all have wings and can fly as fast as you,” the man snapped back in reply. She shook her head and continued to wait, laughing when the man tripped over a raised tree root. His satchel flew out of his hand and onto the ground, spilling a few of the precious jewels.
Vidia sighed, flying back and landing beside the closet jewel. Sprinkling a little pixie dust on it, she rolled in effortlessly back into the satchel, repeating the process with the others. She paused, staring into the woods before the man, whispering his name as they heard rustling.
“Rider! When we get a hold of you, you’re a dead man.”
Flynn gulped, thrusting his hand forward and shoving the rest of the jewels and Vidia into the satchel. He was on his feet and running as fast as he could before he could process the fairies protests. Vidia jostled back and forth within the satchel, trying to protect herself as much as she could from the jewels, cursing the human loudly.
“I know I know, but you have to shut up! I might be able to understand you but to everyone else all they hear are bells and that’s a dead give away to our position.” He just heard her sigh, and carefully held the satchel to his chest to help ease the movement of the jewels.
Ducking into a darkened alcove, Flynn hid, listening for the guards who had been tailing him. He pressed himself farther into the alcove, listening as the guards passed and ran ahead. Waiting a few more moments and being sure they were nowhere near earshot, Flynn sighed and relaxed. Opening the satchel, Vidia flew out in a gust of wind. The purple clad fairy flew in front of him and swiftly kicked his nose with a pointed glare. Flynn moaned, rubbing his nose to ease the pain.
“What the heck was that for?”
The fast-flier continued to glare, “You know exactly what that was for Rider!” she huffed, turning her back to the man with crossed arms.
Flynn sighed, “Yeah I know. Look I’m sorry but we needed to get out of there fast.”
She smirked back at him, “Correction, you needed to get out of there fast. I could have been long gone if you hadn’t shoved me in with the jewels.”
He hummed in response, easing himself onto the ground and keeping the satchel pressed to his side. Flynn held out his hand and without another word, Vidia stood on his palm. He gave her a charming smile, “let’s rest before we head back.”
She nodded, checking the pouch on her side containing her pixie dust. There was an enough for a few more days before she needed to return to Neverland and sweet talk Terrence into giving her more. With an affectionate pat to the bag, Vidia hopped onto Flynn’s shoulder, resting against Flynn’s neck for a brief moment of rest.
End.
