Jack was tired. He tried so hard to be the hero. The one who saved the world. Worlds too. And he was he'd done it, so very many times. But at what cost? ( Cut for Torchwood: Children of Earth Spoilers )
What appeared before him probably wasn't going to help. Felecia was just coming out of Hidden Frank's after her show, still dressed in a nearly translucent body stocking, though her head was bare, showing mussed short brown hair. Her make-up was still thick; she'd wash it off back in her room. Her lonely, empty room, sigh.
Now that wasn't something he expected to see either. Not that he was complaining. Although she looked just as out of place in this cobblestone quaint village as he felt.
Taking a breath to collect himself, he pushed down all the sorrow he'd been feeling back to the recesses of his mind. He adjusted his WWII coat, gave her a nod, and a smile, "Hello." he held out a hand, "Captain Jack Harkness."
"Oooh." Oooh, he was handsome. Felecia put her (rather large) hand in his and shook it. "Felecia Jollygoodfellow at your service. Are you new to our little village?"
Oh. Felecia might have been swooning a little, free hand to her (flat, muscular) chest. "Well ... Captain. This is Hauvratat. It's in the middle of nowhere and people come from all over. I'm from Sydney, actually. Australia? Do you know it?"
"Middle of nowhere? Know anything more than that, Felecia?" That didn't really tell him anything.
He nodded at the question, still smiling, "I do know it. Been once even. I'm from Cardiff, Wales. Well, it's where I've lived the last few years anyhow." He had an American accent, but he wasn't really American either.
He was - he - sigh. Felecia tried to gather her wits. "It's ... well some people say it's between dimensions. It pulls people from all over time and space, it seems. And, well." Hand on Jack's arm. "It won't let us leave, it's said, until we learn a lesson. Though people seem to come and go all the time." Like Smith! "You don't sound Welsh!"
He listened to her explanation. The only thing between dimensions was the Void. Wasn't it? This was strange. Well, he had wanted to get far away from Earth.
This was pretty damn far from it apparently.
Jack smiled shaking his head, "I'm American. But I've lived in Wales for... well it's been ages."
Saying he was American was easier than saying he was born in the Boeshane Penisula in the 51st Century when the same states and countries no longer existed.
It must be a much easier explanation for sure! Anyhoo.
"The ... well, the village gives us what we need. We have to get jobs and we live there - " Felecia pointed to the hotel. "We all have a room..." Maybe her voice got a little sultry there. "And a messager to reach each other."
Felecia linked her arm through Captain Jack's and gestured with her free hand toward the hotel. "I'll walk with you. So, what do you do in Wales, Captain?"
That meant nothing to Felecia, probably unsurprisingly. She was too busy noting that they were close to the same height! "Well, as you can see, there are all kinds of businesses here. That tea shoppe there. That's mine. That's where I offer coffee, tea, or ... me." Minus the coffee, but details.
Oh, he was the most charming man Felecia had met ever. Ever-ever! Even more charming than Remy and that was saying something!
Felecia tightened her hold on his arm. "The hotel is right up here, Captain. There, you'll get your room assignment and your messager. And a drink with me if you feel so inclined."
... but what was this? Who was this? "... hello?"

He lifted the rather large hand and kissed the top of it like a proper gentleman. Not that he was. But he liked to pretend.
"And I guess I am new, yeah. Since I don't know where it is I am."

"Ah, how accommodating this between dimensions village is." Jack smirked, "And I'll have to be getting your number."

"I'm currently between jobs at the moment." Jack told her vaguely, "But I used to work for an organization called Torchwood."

"That's... quite the selection." he winked, "But I think I know what I'd order."
