After the previous day's disastrous reunion with his mother, Draco was feeling a lot like a dirty rag in the gutter. However, there was nothing like meddling (well, not technically meddling since he had permission from Meg) in other people's lives to provide a way to ignore the shit storm in your own. That was what Draco believed and so he was ( Read more... )

Enter one very large, potentially imposing man who only managed to not be frightening looking because of the smile on his face and the jeans very liberally smeared in what probably looked like mud but was in reality potters clay. Honestly he could be one of the Weasley brothers in a pinch, with his long red hair pulled back in a ponytail.

Destruction ordered his usual large black coffee and an assortment of pastries before moving into the sitting area and scanning for a table.

Ok, that was a little funny.

"So you teach because you're pants at making good art?" he said with a bit of a laugh. "All right, that works I guess. Where do you like to go in the village?"

"It isn't about the quality of the art," though yes he was an absolutely horrible artist, in all mediums. "It is about creating something."

He finished the scone and started on another pastry thoughtfully, "I spend a good deal of time out of doors. In the park, going for long walks through the woods. Tuesday's new baked goods at the cafe." A smile.

Draco, funny enough, hadn't touched his danish very much since he started writing things down.

"How's your French?" he asked. "Not that Meg doesn't speak or understand English - quite the opposite really - but it is an interest point."

"Language isn't a barrier, I can speak or understand as needed." All of the Endless could.

"I should have guessed as much," Draco said, his pen moving quickly over the paper. "Do you agree to meet the young lady then?"

"If she would like to meet me, though your questioning seems rather cursory. I could be a dangerous man."

"You could be," Draco agreed. "But I know who you are, where to find you, and when you will be with her. Not a smart set up to get away with harming Meg. Especially since you have no idea what I could do to you if you tried."

"Very, very little. But the fact that you'd be willing says much about the kind of friend you are, and the kind of woman this Meg is to inspire such friendship." He smiled and finished off his pastry.

Draco smiled. "There are many ways to harm a person besides the physical. But that is beside the point here."

"You assume I am not immune to any harm you might do me." He likely was, but he wouldn't push it. "And the point is?"

"The point is whether I should consider you as a worthy candidate to court my friend," he said, and sipped his tea. "What do you think?"

"I am not qualified to recommend myself, though I have been known to be a pleasant companion. What do you envision the end result of this... courting to be?"

"Well, if Meg likes you, you are then eligible for a second date with her," Draco said. "Eventually, it will come down to one man."

"And what is expected of this man? Undying love? Loyalty? Marriage? Children?"

Draco laughed. "No, none of that. Under the circumstances of the village, that would be foolish. A close companionship is enough, though how far that goes is up to Meg."
