another slow news day in my brain

Am I right in thinking that there is a creepy/possibly dangerous character in a movie who says, "Hello, poppet"? (or 'ello, as it were, with some vaguely British accent) Or have I just creepified the phrase in my memory for no good reason ( Read more... )

geekery, movies, dancing - yay!

"Hello poppet" is via the early action sequence in the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie, when-later-endearingly-homoerotic-pirate has Elizabeth cornered in a closet in her house.

Hmmm....odd silent locations. I'd vote for performance art theater? They can do any insane thing onstage, and just insist that you pay your money and sit very quietly for it?

Oh! It's the guy who has the video diary or whatever on the DVD? The shorter, rounder-faced one? Either way, I'm happy to be able to file the line away, thank you :)

Ooh, and that gives me interesting ideas, and something that actually ties in to what I started with. Thank you again!

I fail at special feature stuff, but he's the shorter, rounder of the comic relief guys?

Glad to be of help! (Plus, I image Eames makes hilarious faces when confronted by performance art?)

Very occasionally, Eames finds performance artists fascinating. Not the performances, because those are invariably shite, but the people are fun to observe, and because you can't really stare at individual people like bugs under glass, sometimes it's worth the effort to get to know them.

IDEK, there's this whole thing now, and Arthur's wearing a cashmere sweater, even though it sort of makes him feel like a yuppie cliche, but little does he know that Eames is surprisingly fond of the evidence that he wasn't born in a suit. and there is a ridiculous misunderstanding. WTH.
