mmk, so my close friend who shall remain nameless is completely and utterly whipped by his parents. appaerntly a few nights ago his girlfriend was over past midnight and the two of them were watching tv. That's tricky...if his girlfriend isn't going to stand by him through this, maybe she isn't worth going out with in the first place...although what he's going through is definitely unfair. What I would do is probably pretend to abide by the restrictions and find ways around them. These are obviously ridiculous rules, he's justified in it. Of course, he might want to talk to his parents, see if he can't give the situation straightened out before he has to disobey them. Oh yeah, and the girl definitely needs to quit smoking. If she doesn't, even more reason to break up with her.

Depends on the person -
I would reccommend writing a letter to his parents specifying why it's slightly unfair to put these rules on him now. Preaching how responsible he is and asking what he could do to have these rules lifted. A letter could be a lot easier becasue then he can plan it out and sound a lot more put together then approaching them in a manner that oculd get taken wrong
