A few months ago, Bill made a very difficult decision to get out of the Army National Guard.  Bill has been a soldier in some capacity (active in the 82nd Airborne for 4 years, SSG Cav Scout in the Guard for 12) for most of his adult life, so the decision was not made without some serious thought.  His ETS date is June 6.  Yesterday it was ( Read more... )

I've never thought of thanking servicemen when I see them before. I will have to try to remember to do that in the future.

It really means a lot to them...and their families. I know that every now and then when Bill as deployed, and someone would see me wearing his dogtag, it really moved me if someone said thank you. The young men I said it to today just beamed.
