...is it just me or has no one else been able to post to sydneygothic for the last few weeks since the hacker attack? Cos it's REALLY starting to piss me off.

I noticed that I couldn't post either.

Are you sure that it isn't His Gothic Majesty having a petty shot at forum users who've dared to publicly criticise the lack of benevolence in his dictatorship?

I imagine you could be on his "black list" as well and that the recent kerfuffle over No Vitals could have been his spur on to actually block out dissenters.

Umbra doesn't maintain the LJ community, Karl does. (And I do find it interesting that the only posts added to sydneygothic since the hacker attack have been by him, and one of them is a promo for the new Angelspit CD. Coincidence?)

I already know that, I just for a moment assumed that you meant the forum.

Now that you point it out, it does look rather suspicious in regards to the LJ community.
Notice how that none of the URL with "sydneygothic" (com, cam.au, org, org.au, net, net.au) seem to go anywhere anymore?
The last time I attempted to view the "gothic events in Sydney" website, I was directed me to the Crash Frequency website (http://www.crashfrequency.com).

There is a good chance that Karl has decided to delete the members list (except for a few chosen friends,) and uses it now almost solely as the Angelspit/Crash Frequency soapbox.

I checked. The membership list is still there, about 650-odd. I could be charitable, I suppose, and assume Karl just hasn't had the few minutes it would take to process the handful of posts that would've otherwise been made in the last few weeks and get them out of the moderation queue so the community can become useful again...
