I suggested they start using the MC-303 for backing instead of a CD. It will do everything they need apart from the samples.

Gig was great, especially given most of the crowd were there for metal and not synth - crowd seemed to enjoy themselves.

The Jazz Fusion keys vs Death Metal drums track was a sight to see (and hear).

I'm afraid of backing tracks. They bother me ever so slightly. You just never know. Mind you, if I had visuals on DVD, I'd just marry them up, like John Foxx did.

The IVD also have an Electribe as well, which sounds alright for a cheapish groovebox. They could use both...just sync via MIDI... Samplers are getting cheaper and cheaper... but gear isn't important, really, as long as you present well, know your parts and how to use them.
