Things I am working on right now, in mission briefing form:

Operation Make Calcifer Eat: Calcifer's refused food for about a month now. Could be he's not going to eat because it's cold, or maybe he feels that the pinkies are too freezer burned. Whatever the case, I've turned the tank heat up and brought home some used mouse bedding from work. So ( Read more... )

Ooooh! I love papillons! Lemme know if that happens, and I may demand petting opportunities the next time I'm in your neck of the woods. :)

The puppies won't be born until December, so it'll be a while. =)

I've just spent so much time with animals that I might've actually overplanned. So far, the initial costs:

Puppy: ~$500 (comes with 1st 3 rounds of shots)
Misc. Vet costs for the first year: $500 (spaying, rabies booster)
Flea/tick preventative: $15 every 4 months
Food: $30/month, max. The dog is freaking tiny. I'm not sure if the food'll go stale before she eats it, though... forgot about that...
Toys/etc: Who knows? I wouldn't buy many new toys, as bousehold stuff is the best way to entertain them and get them used to their new role in the home.

So that's just the basic stuff. And over a year. So yes, I'll make a lot of it back, but that's still a LOT to spend. AND that's for a small dog, who won't need training class and who won't need a fence and who doesn't eat 20lbs of food a week and who doesn't go indoors so I won't need those freaking expensive pads.

But it seems prudent to have a couple grand extra as a buffer zone. In case my dog needs diamonds or something. Or I could be planning wayyy too much.

I actually can buy lace by the pound, and I'd need to match the pattern/shade of off-white. You never realize how many shades of off-white there actually are UNTIL YOU HAVE TO MATCH LACE. It sucks. Besides, with the amount of lace I'll be using, I'd probably need two wedding dresses' worth, and it's very difficult to find two identical ones at thrift shops xD

I imagine you might do this anyways, but please take many pictures while building the gown, it'd be very neat to see the design (concept sketches and base materials, up to construction) you go through while making it :)

Meant wedding gown, but both would be cool.

Interesting. I have a friend who needs steampunk gear for an airship pirate queen. If interested ping me and we can see what can be arranged.
