Some of the higher up managers at work do a lot of cycling on the south downs and were basically doing the "I'm better than he is" kinda argument, so I just came out with "a friend of mine held the world record for cycling the south downs twice in one day" and they all stopped bragging about how fir they were, went silent for a few minutes and then just all said "thats just mad!" :)
I'd say I'll meet you up there for some cycling because I have never been up there but it'd just end in you waiting around for me or vanishing in the distance whilst I struggle.
Anytime...there's various bunches of us who go out up there on bicycles, when it's a group ride there's no fear of being left behind (though you have to get used to people obsessively counting riders at gates, to make sure we haven't lost anyone :) ).
I seem to have set a new record this year too; could be a while before anyone is crazy enough to take a pop at this one.
What motorbike do you have now? When riding through your village, which I do every day ont he way home from work, someone on a bike waved at me and I have no idea who it was. They had a blue bike and long hair.
