Hey F-List, it's high time I roll in and ask for assistance, again. I'm not going back to school next year and I need a job, and larcenists found this for me.

It's pretty much perfect. it's the closest place possible to my house that isn't working at a fast food restraunt and I really, really want to go into cooking. Does anyone have any tips on what to do if ( Read more... )

o/////o google some resume templates and use those, try to get like teachers and stuff to be your references (friends work too, as long as its not like obvious family members) and dress nice when you turn in your application/resume just in case they wanna ask you questions.

Well, I assume you have to ask them for an application...And definitely mention your training and stuff, yeah. If they ask, say you'll get your certificates at the end of the school year, but don't mention that on your resume LMAO

As someone who has been in the workforce since I was 15 years old, I can tell you a lot about what you need to do. First off, do what Lulubel said and look up templates for resumes. You want it to be simple and understandable, but look organized and professional as well.

The next thing to do is go into a job looking as nice as you can, because employers respond better to someone who is at the top of their game. It makes you look confident and professional. Professionalism is the key item to getting a job.

When you go in to turn in your resume: mention you are very interested in the job, ask for their number. You want to be able to contact them in about a week after turning in your resume. The reason for calling THEM is because that lets the employer know you still have interest and that you want to work for them. Showing initiative is the second key item to getting a job.

The last and most important thing, don't be overconfident. This is something that people think is really huge to getting a job, but it's not. A lot of ( ... )

We actually had a mini unit on resumes and cover letters in a class I'm in at school! I have them both written, I just need to edit them to fit the job.

and I need to find a nice shirt, aahhh... I have black pants....
