Really not fond of this whole plunge neck thing (I know not the fashionista term but ref: Lilly, Seymour, etc). On the other hand Swank seems to pull it off well. As always, the simplest dresses look the most elegant (imo, ref: Longoria, Johansson). Sarah Wayne Callies dress looks a lot like something Rose McGowan wore for an awards show at some point (I think). Suited the latter better.
Keira appears to have been quite the hit. I'm trying imagine that Callies dress as looking good on someone but it just ain't workin'. Will have to dig out a link later. The plunge look could work if the women just admitted they needed support, so to speak.
Ah, Maj. You may be a Top Bloke, but you're also a Wronghead. Plunging necklines are great. Unless you mean to say that you're only against it when it doesn't work, in which case I suppose you're right there. But if you're against it in principle? Wronghead!
Well clearly if it worked I wouldn't be against it, e.g. Swank. Unfortunately most of the time it just looks... wrong. I think its when the design has the vesty bits that don't meet in the centre mostly. As in |_| bad, \/ good.
See now I've been thinking about this far too much. Damn you, ajr...
Also, fab frocks! Thanks for posting. Interesting how much red there was this year, and how much of it on pale ladies. Really liking Nicolette Sheridan's blue dress.
Reese Witherspoon = EEEP Mariah Carey = retch Gwyneth Paltrow - Just because you are hatching another addition to the fruit bowl you didn't have to to cut up granny's old lace table cloths. Keira Knightley - The guy is right - that does look too curtainish.
Very detailed indeed. One might say, exhaustive or wrong headed? Keira, just Keira? The dress looked good, it didn't look that good. Ah, well, at least your icon reminds me of Mal speaking in That Accent.
Miss Sheridan and Miss Swank also had distinctive and stylish dresses. But most of the other efforts were either dull or aware that something was going on in this year's fashions but not quite sure exactly what.

Heh. Hadn't really paid attention to the text, but now I'm seeing the dress in a different light.

No one can dress this year except Keira, apparently.
