You really have a way with words...you just pretty much said everything I've been feeling lately but not knowing how to put into words to describe to others, who probably would never undertsand anyway, no matter what words I spelled it out to them with. I don't agree with that statement you saw either. The blame truly is always placed on the victim...as if they aren't going through enough already, like you said. And if some of their pain really truly is their their own fault, stating that to them has to be done with a little compassion and sesitivity. Unfortunately these two qualities are things most Americans seem to lack, apparently. Anyway, blaming the victim happens on a daily basis, and it's really not fair. It could be the smalletst thing to something extreme, but it doesn't even matter what scale it's on - it should NOT ever happen. My all time favorite example is when talking about rape or other sexual assualt...the dumbest questions are always asked. For example, "...well what was she wearing when it happened?" ( ... )
