I SO CAN'T WITH ALL THE STUPID. All of the above, and also I think maybe Jonathan has had some sort of undiagnosed stroke, because he suddenly believes whatever the last person to tell him something tells him. I mean, like, CONSTANTLY.
I joke about book!Jonathan, as well as most of his media incarnations, being kind of useless -- I think maybe he blew his lifetime allotment of badassery escaping from the castle -- but this is. Just. Arg.
Thank goodness there are only a couple eps left, because I'm in that sort of stuck point where I can't quite quit but I'm perilously close to hatewatching. Renfield is made of awesome, but everyone else has been written into a sludgy mess. *sigh*
I KNOW, RIGHT? What the hell? Jonathan is not supposed to be so stupid! At the very MINIMUM, he should be supportive to Mina, and you can honestly and truly make a decent Dracula/Mina/Jonathan love triangle without demonizing Jonathan. I mean, for one thing, he doesn't kill people for food. Dracula? Not a sympathetic dude. He's Dracula
( ... )
I really, really want to be pro-Jayne, because on paper she should be catnip, and I am all for how much fun Victoria Smurfit is clearly having. But the writing makes me too sad. *sigh*
Katie McGrath, can you please get better work? Please?
This reminds me, I really really need to get my hands on the Labyrinth miniseries. I read the book last year, and really enjoyed it. And while Oriane is a little bit of a retread of Morgana for her, I still want to see it.
Have not seen that. Have somehow not even heard of it. But am thinking I should!
I get you on the writing on Dracula, though. I'm holding onto my like for Jayne by the skin of my teeth, given how she did at least ditch Dracula eventually. I'm sad that she's probably doomed, especially as Victoria Smurfit is clearly having a whole hell of a lot of fun with her.
