Brad Wright really needs to STOP TALKING. Does he honestly think any SG1/SGA fan is going to hear his little tirade and be like 'he's so right. I should give this show a chance even though it has none of the elements that made me love the first two. How could I be so selfish as to only watch shows that I like?'. Seriously, dude...You're only hurting your show more with this crap.
Granted, I still watch SGU but not because of some loyalty to the franchise and I absolutely understand why so many fans aren't into it. SGU is nothing like SGA/SG1 and it has a lot of problems so I get why people aren't interested. Having BW rant about 'these mean, vindictive fans' is only going to make things worse.

I agree. I do like SGU ... quite a bit, actually. But yeah, I like it apart from the first two shows. It isn't SG1 and SGA, and I think that's what pisses off some fans. I think Brad needs to wrap his head around that, and just accept that some fans just aren't going to like the format. Suck it up, buttercup. Geez.
BW and co. tried something different with SGU & it didn't work. They need to just own up to that and stop blaming the fans for not liking a show that WASN'T MADE FOR THEM! BW has said so many times that SGU was directed to a different audience and yet, now he expects his former audience to tune in just because it has the Stargate name? Logic, he clearly has none.
lol This is true. But I watched it at first just because it did have the SG name attached even though I knew it wasn't going to have the same format. I ended up enjoying it. But I always tell my kids to keep an open mind for everything.
lol No, no one's being mean. I do like the show though. I just enjoy it as a separate creature than ... y'know ... Stargate. Which I realize is why so many fans hate it. Sometimes I do feel as though I have to defend myself for liking it, but then I'm too lazy to do that, and just put on my smiley face when SGU comes on on Fridays and enjoy the show.
Pfft, you have no need to defend yourself for liking SGU! I'm glad you're enjoying it!
Personally, I'm just so uninterested it's not even funny, but that's me. And if the world were all just like me, it would be a very boring place. Though much, much femslashier.
Oh geeze. I am a viewer! I am free to choose what I want to watch. And I don't want to watch SGU. So I'll watch something else that keeps me, you know, entertained. That's what entertainment is for. That's the bottom line. If someone enjoys it, fine by me. I don't, so I don't watch it.
As for shadenfreude? Yes I has it. Karma, baby. *uses Atlantis icon*
Please. If Atlantis fans were so damn powerful it'd still be on the air. Your logic, it is flawed.
And Lizzie and Carson's respective storylines would never have gone anywhere near the direction they did. But that's only if we were all-powerful gods, which, as Mallozzi has pointed out many times over the years, we definitely are not. *sigh*

On a more serious note, that article makes me sad for the cast, you know?
