This. I stopped watching at the end of season three, with what they did to Bella and Ruby.

And Jo and Ellen are fantastic, so I'd love to see something done with them.

I'm starting to think that a rewrite like that should be a shared AU. There are a lot of people on my friendslist who would like it.

Sam and Dean could run the roadhouse with John and Mary, because they deserve a happily ever after, damn it. Sam could be having problems with his girlfriend Jess, who isn't familiar with hunters at all. Dean could be with Cassie (because I adore her, and I have no idea who this Lisa person is, though I'm sure she's awesome). Ruby and Bela don't have to actually change roles at all, though I'd imagine Jo and Ellen would deal differently with them and their stories would change. And Anna and Castiel would still be able to be there.

Is it wrong that my response to this is to write about females in the Supernatural world, original and cannon? Like I have this HUGE story about an OC that is probably a Mary Sue (ok, not probably) and so thus stuck in my head. And yet this makes me want to write it down and post it.

I just... females are cool you guys. I think it would be awesome for Dean to have a stable (sorta) relationship with a person outside of the hunting world, or at least just world ajacent. And if that person were female shaped? I'd be all over that.

And I'd love to read an AU Harvelle story.

I'm of the opinion the AU Harvelle story needs to be a shared AU, because I don't have the time to devote to it that I want to.

Oh, for the love of shit. I already know that show's not up my alley (having watched a scattered handful of episodes due to certain guest stars) because anything without a long-running good female character will fail to hold my interest, but my god, this fandom, this show with killing off all the female characters, what in hell is wrong with you.

I have to wonder the same thing! It's just. ARGH. So annoying. So frustrating. I'm not regretting walking away from the show after second season.
