So, I’m planning on transferring from my current school and would like some insight into Haverford, especially from the current students. Later on, I’ll be going through the community’s past enteries for more info as well :). In no particular order ( Read more... )

a. I don't think we specifically have Biomedical Engineering. We tend to veer away from the über-specific majors.

b. No clue, but a lot of students tend to be premed.

c. There are a lot of clubs which are easy to get involved in; there is definitely a social scene although you have to sort of be willing to take what you can get.

d. Sort of.

e. I'd sort of disagree with the first comment. The train stations are more like 10 minutes away, in opposite directions. And the ride from the commuter rail station to Center City is almost exactly 20 minutes, if you get off on the first stop. Of course, that's assuming the train is on time. They usually are, though; I've rarely had trouble with the trains, and I use them around every other week.

f,g,i: I wouldn't be asking these questions here, since the number of transfers is so low.

j. If I didn't have to apply and could take my friends and opportunities at Haverford with me, I'd... okay, fine, I think I would stay at Haverford. of course, I mean, I am.

I know there isn't biomedical, per se, but I'll look into the generalized engineering options Haverford has. Thanks for responding :)

as rosefyre said, and as can't be emphasized enough, haverford takes very few transfer students. usually four, but sometimes not even that many. you must be a very good fit for the school in terms of the honor code, small community, etc ( ... )
