I'm really hoping that this is an overreaction. Otherwise... well. Colorado scares me.

Wow, that sounds a little extreme. I could see a fine, or maybe some community service or something, but the sex registry sounds very very harsh. People take things way to seriously these days.

If you look at the article, poor Mr. Rasmussen was under the same impression about what the consequences would be for streaking... I've never heard of anything so extreme either. The only thing that I can think of is that a law had been put into affect long ago, and since (god, I hope) it sounds like most streaking doesn't go to court, no judge or jury has been in the position to clarify the full application of the law and the legislature hasn't felt the need to address changing it. Like when you find out some state still has a law about how, I dunno, bathing hedgehogs in your kitchen sink on Sundays is illegal. Running around naked with a pumpkin on your head seems just as silly, y'know
