I don't know, Ms. Bishop. Maybe yourself? After all, you're practically one of my own, aren't you? I've known you since you were only an idea in your parents' brains.

There are two habits that are hard to break once we get into them, Gabriel. The first is quitting, and the second is putting things off until another day.

I suppose. It seems a bit early to me, but I only ever had to shop for one person before.

Peter wants to have dinner with us tonight, by the way. And I've just settled into my apartment. Maybe we could have him over?

Why are you talking to Elle?

Well, I've got one more person to shop for now, don't I? What do you want for Christmas yourself?

I think that that is as lovely an idea as I've ever heard.

It is always good to get things done now, instead of later. To plan ahead.

I don't think I should be accepting presents from you. I hardly even know you. No offense.

Well not as much as I think...

But you know Claire. And any boy that knows my beautiful granddaughter clearly deserves whatever he wants. Don't tell me there's nothing that you want, either. I have two sons. I know how men work.

No offense again, Mrs. Petrelli, but um...

I'm nothing like either of your sons. I think.

But I appreciate the offer, seriously. I don't really think I need anything. I already have a bike.

You get fifteen minutes to start explaining. Argue, give me the run-around, and you'll never see Claire again.

You're going to have to be more specific, Noah. There is a lot for me to be apologizing for, I'm sure, and it's stupid to offer more information than necessary. Wife and mother of a lawyer, remember?

What do you want?

This qualifies as giving me the run-around. Have a nice holiday, Angela.

That's answer enough. It's Gabriel, isn't it? You want to know why I'm associating with him?

You should know that it is always advisable to keep danger under your thumb, rather than at arm's length. And he is my son and I want him back.
