As busy as I am getting my new...arrangements settled, I've also been busy getting together everything that I will need for the holidays together in my time off work. As fulfilling as employment can be, it also leaves less time for household chores and preparations.

It occurs to me that my Christmas shopping list for this year is dismally short,

Holiday shopping, already?

There are two habits that are hard to break once we get into them, Gabriel. The first is quitting, and the second is putting things off until another day.

I suppose. It seems a bit early to me, but I only ever had to shop for one person before.

Peter wants to have dinner with us tonight, by the way. And I've just settled into my apartment. Maybe we could have him over?

Well, I've got one more person to shop for now, don't I? What do you want for Christmas yourself?

I think that that is as lovely an idea as I've ever heard.

Me? Oh, I don't think I I'm just happy to be here with you, Mother. I can't really think of any thing I want for Christmas.

I'm glad you like it. Any particular sort of dinner you'd enjoy? I warn you, our cooking skills are rather...limited.
