Hello everyone! My name is Riku and I'm a longtime lurker and short-time member of this community. I'm glad that there's a community like this; character bashing is something that irritates me to no end.

Hikaru is my absolute favorite character in the whole world! There is no excuse for bashing her. XP She's one of the few magical-girl main characters I've seen who doesn't cry at the drop of a pin and trip over everything in sight, yet she's still criticized for being "annoying" and "immature." And don't even get me started on the "I can't stand her because her braid's so ugly!" comment I read once...

Admittedly, the anime didn't do as near a good a job in getting Hikaru's hair right, but... *more sputtering* I heart Hikaru's hair. It suits her character and it's neat looking too, in my opinion.

And even if Hikaru's hair did suck...jeebus. Stupid reason for hating a character. *shakes head*

The manga of Chobits lists Plum's name as Plum. I've never heard Sumomo. Was that her original name? Manga doesn't generally do dub names from what I've seen, so I'm a bit confused.

Sumomo is Plum's name in the anime while Plum is Plum in the manga. I have no idea WHY they translated it, but they did. At least, assuming my memory doesn't fail me.

I have only one thing to say:

Dude. Yaoi fangirls? You don't HAVE to hate on a female character because she's 'in the way' of two guys, certainly not in THIS case. I've never seen the second Rayearth anime, but my BIG impression from the manga was that Lantis, Hikaru, and Eagle are a canon THREESOME, or shaping up to be. And that's also hot.

Honestly... So narrow-minded.

I loved Tidus! He was just delightfully different from the standard Sexy Angst Machine heroes that grace the FF series. I personally found him, along with the rest of the FFX cast, to be some of the most well characterized of the series. Tidus was so remarkably *human*. He was incredibly easy to identify with, an excellent trait for the main character. ^^v

I'm trying to imagine Cloud or Squall in Tidus's place and the image is making me laugh myself dizzy. XD

I like Rikku's X-2 outfit. It's such a creative look and it seems to suit the character extremely well. ^^v

I do have to agree about the annoying-VA-compounding-on-an-annoying-character bit. I liked Kelly Manison's work as Naga in the Slayers OAVs. I thought she did a great job making Naga stand out. On the other had, I have a fierce dislike for Lina Inverse that has been worsened by Lisa Ortiz's take on the character in the series. I found Lina obnoxious to begin with and the VA didn't help matters one bit. ^^;

Cloud would probably toddle off and have a conversation with the voices in his head. XD

I don't think an angst-a-riffic hero would have fit well in Final Fantasy X. Auron fills the tall, dark and broody slot nicely enough.

Cloud probably would and Squall would have just gone "..." at everything anyone said. That first meeting with Wakka would have been quite different. XD

And we all know Cloud's -amazing- history with woman...Tifa probably could have danced around in front of him naked singing bad love songs and he wouldn't have noticed.
