In spite of the fact that the Dead Rising fandom seems to be pretty darn tiny, I've still seen character-bashing occur - one of my favourite characters I tend to see bashed occasionally is Jessica "Jessie" McCarney. I wouldn't say she gets as much flak as some of the other characters in the game, but, alas, bashing of her does exist.

crying "slut/whore/playboy", resident evil, female characters, dead rising, clothes do not make the person, video games, crying "devoted = weak", crying "not badass = useless"

Ooh! I like Rebecca! Dating back to the original game even, which I find a puzzling reason to hate her for considering just how bad(and hilarious) the writing and VA was.

Have these people never even heard of Resident Evil 0? The game REBECCA S.T.A.R.S IN? See what I did there? Huh!? That game shows how competent and awesome she can be.

My thoughts exactly. I haven't actually completed RE 0 yet, but anyone who thinks she's useless should play that game and see how very wrong they are. :P

"You were almost a Jill sandwich!" never gets old to me. XD

(That being said, I don't know if you're familiar with Dead Rising - also made by Capcom - but there is a sandwich bar in that game titled... wait for it... "Jill's Sandwiches". The description for it is something along the lines of "master of sandwich-making" - another reference to one of Barry Burton's infamous lines. XD Win.)

Your link to the picture of Jessica didn't work but I did find one.

For heaven's sake, she not fat. She's kind of voluptuous, but that's it. And why does every woman in video games need to be the same body type anyway?

I don't know that much about the plot of the game but I think sometimes people are way too hard on horror game characters (and not necessarily only the women). If I was stuck in a mall full of zombies I'd love to think I'd spend my time kicking ass but really? It's not so likely.

I love Rebecca. I don't get why everyone hates her. She's way more badass than any of us folks. :P
