The Trajickal Story of Anime Females in a Love Triangle, featuring Nara Shikamaru, Yamanaka Ino and Temari from Masashi Kishimoto's Naruto, as told by Freya.
Coming from a ShikaIno fan, I have to say... AMEN. That's one of the reasons why I steered clear from most of those fics to begin with. Bashers in general just... Ugh. I remember a few ShikaIno arts that were done for me as gifts and they got waves of comments griping about Ino being a bitch and how ShikaTem was better, etc etc etc. c.c;
Seriously people... I've got nothing against people who like the pairing. It's not my thing (I'm not fond of Temari as a character, so I think that's where my brain locks up in regards to the pairing) but hey, it's yours, so it's all cool. I'm seriously down with that. c.c Why does the bashing and the hating need to be brought into it? And yeah, I'm addressing my side of the fence, too. e.e
Seriously, the Naruto fandom is /insane/ when it comes to pairings.
So what about InoHina? :3 FreakyEyedBabeBrigade! *shot*
No offense to the fans. In fact, good on you if you like ShikaIno because I really can't bring myself to. I simply don't see ShikaIno at all, adore both characters as I do. I don't think their dynamic is anything remotely 'shippy, and even if they tried it wouldn't work. My brain says this with zero influence of the TemaShika side of the fence. In fact, I mostly ignore them and do my own thing, though I've sensed small undercurrents of Ino-bashing in reviews I've received on my TemaShika fanfiction which makes me mad. It doesn't discourage me, but it does frustrate me.
Know what? Let's get wild! InoTemaHinaSakuTen FTW! Who needs boys, anyway?
I guess the reason that slightly holds me back from 100% fangirling Temari more is how much I hate the way her loudest fans tout her as "The Only Strong Female Along With Tsunade" and then bash all the other kunoichi, specially Sakura and Ino for being "Soooooo Antifeministic and Girly LOL".
Look, fans. I lean more towards InoShikaChou, but I still like Temari a lot. And she's more tomboyish than the other girls but still loves her miniskirts and ponytails and fights with a FAN of all weapons, so she's got no sand in her vagina (pun intended) and in no way hates other females than her. :P
That... is so fucking not true. I mean, yeah, sure, she completely pwned TenTen and Tayuya, and it was awesome. However, I think her fight with Shimamaru was the best one b/c she did struggle. She happened to have a natural advantage against TenTen and Tayuya. If, say, Sakura, Ino, or Hinata have a natural advantage against their enemies, I do imagine said enemies would be pwned to the ground in quite the same way. In fact, I wish Temari and Kankuro had more matches where they struggled a bit, like Gaara does (against Lee, Sasuke, Naruto, Kimimaro, and Deidara, all fights were awesome
( ... )
AMEN. The entire Naruto female cast is strong for even being ninjas and standing through the pain, and yet just because Temari and Tsunade are "useful/WINNERS" in combat, they get credit and the others get shafted or bashed. Pity.
It's weird how the two girls with the most screentime will always be assumed to be in a Wuv Triangle with the main boy regardless of whether they fancy him. Is the concept that there can be an important female character who doesn't want to marry the hero and claw out the other girl's eyes so outlandish?

Apparently so! After all, a woman's only purpose in anything is totally to fall in love with The Guy. Never mind that the ladies may *GASP* have personalities, interesting idiosyncrasies, and, get this! Other interests OUTSIDE of being In Luvz, ZOMGSCREAMS!! *cues thunderbolt and scary vampire music OF DOOM*
I hate Ryoko fantards like that because they make me feel embarrassed for liking Ryoko. I admit it, I really don't like Ayeka, but I'm certainly not going to bash her. I just tend to ignore her. XD
